My Creative Space

Saturday was rainy and miserable.
A perfect day for sitting in front of the computer.
Looking for tutorials and how tos.
These hexagons from Meet Me At Mikes are addictive.

I was thinking cushion cover ...
but they are breeding like wildflower,
so possibly a throw.
I will have to head back to google and You Tube
for ideas on how to edge the final product.

I found this little frame on Coco Rose Textiles.
Originally from Lola Nova.
Waiting for pay day,
to order some yarn from Bendigo Woollen Mills.
I have a feeling these will be addictive too.
I raided Miss Fairy's jewellery stash
looking for bangles, of which there should have been many.
I do believe there must have been a secret cull
by the Lone Dad when I was in England.
I used a scoobie wrapped round twice,
so that explains the wonky middle.
It's also not quite right on the edging either,
as I made this in the car on the way to the
opening of the Australian Baseball League
on Saturday night.

Red pipe cleaner is one of Miss Fairy's
many pipe cleaner creations made on Saturday.
I just borrowed it for a bit of colour.

Thursday is the day to check in here.
Happy Creating

Carmel

Hmm those hexagons ALMOST have me tempted to become friends again with my crochet hook/s ... ;) I notice on your profile we have tow of the same fav books - To Kill a Mockingbird (of course), and Secret River (sigh). So clearly you have very good taste on many fronts!

Thanks for visiting my blog today Carmel. Your crochet is gorgeous, love the colours.
The Fairy Floss Market is on the 5th Dec in Geelong so you may miss it as its not in the holidays. Another good market is the Cowrie Market in Torquay and the Tranquility Fair in Ocean Grove.

Oh Carmel I wish I could crochet. My Grandma held legendary status in this department. I wonder if I can learn...it looks so intricate.

Those hexagons look great ... I may just have to go and have a peek at that tutorial! The question that's bugging me is how you end up with something rectangular for either a cushion cover or a throw ... would love to see what you end up making with them.

So beautiful Carmel, reminds me of a cross between flowers in snow and stars in the sky. If that makes sense.

Those hexagons are gorgeous! I love the bright pops of colour amidst the stark white. Lovely work!

I made a throw out of hexagons too a while ago and you are right, they are addictive but so much fun to make! I crocheted an edging around it but I didn't really like it, so now it goes without edging.
Have fun crocheting, it looks great!

Carmel the colour scheme is great. The mint green with white really appeals. Breeding like wildflowers? You make it sound easy. With your guidance I asked for a 'learn to crochet' guide at Spotlight for kids. Nothing. I've got a 99cent Patons one. Not for kids. Will keep you posted. xx :)
